Welcome to Tech-Gnosis!

For those curious about our name:

Tech(nology): Humans have been developing and utilizing it for some time now. It evolves to address our needs and desires and often tests our curiosity, creativity, and patience. We often help each other understand it and use it to collaborate with others.

Gnosis: The common Greek noun for knowledge. We all have uniquely valuable experiences and perspectives that inform how we approach life and the challenges it presents us. Through sharing our gnosis, we can more fully understand, enjoy, and be of loving service to each other.

Tech-Gnosis is a volunteer-based service that aims to connect middle school, high school, and college students with people who are open to receiving assistance using and learning to use their technology. This kind of assistance may include, but is not limited to, using smartphones, personal computers, the Internet, smart home devices, cable, and other audio-visual equipment.

This service was started as an opportunity to bridge gaps of understanding between the experiences and values of younger and older people in our culture. The sometimes rapid pace of change that we experience today necessitates that we, as collective humanity, do what we can to adapt by learning from and seeking to understand one another while staying true to who we are when we listen to our hearts.

The service will initially be facilitated through in-person events at schools, institutions of higher education, and other organizations that are open to hosting. In the opportunities section of this website, there will be information available for anyone interested in hosting, assisting, or otherwise participating in events during spring of 2024.

The survey linked on the site header is intended to gauge people's perspectives on what this service is offering and how it will be useful to people. The survey can be completed in about five minutes and includes an opportunity to be selected as one of ten people who will receive the service from the founder of the organization. These trial services will inform the structure and requirements of in-person events. In order to plan in-person events for later in the spring, these trials will be completed throughout February and March 2024. We are grateful for your interest and look forward to learning with you!
